5·2 days agoIt’s a weird mess. I actually considered getting a 12 speed C-line but after they refused to help me with a referral code I was given after waiting days for their useless response, I decided to buy a Priority Folder for less than half the price instead (plus it has a belt drive and IGH).
Also, Priority’s customer service has been pretty good, especially compared to Brompton.
The term “enshittified” comes to mind when I think of Brompton now.

4·3 days agoI was thinking indie games becoming more popular, people defaulting to refurbs/repairs over new stuff, and developers being forced to optimize their software, games, and OSes, buuuuut, yeah that’s a distinct possibility too.

16·3 days agoThey’re inevitable because companies already know they’re going to do everything they can to fuck us over for as much profit as they think is possible. We’ll see how this all plays out though.

1·4 days agoIt becomes a matter of which is scarier: Microsoft or having to try a new thing? The shittier windows gets, the more people will be pushed to jump ship, possibly to Linux.

17·4 days agoNever tried it but glad to hear it, games benefit by embracing the modding community rather than attacking it. Minecraft, Skyrim, and other mod friendly games were all wildly popular (they even got modders to help fix stuff for free).

3·5 days agoThanks for pointing this out: It looks like a problem between Lemmy and Mbin. We are looking into it now.

Something like a surgical mask can help a bit even if other unmasked sick people are around (though it’s pretty minimal, less than 10% IIRC), but nowhere near as much as a proper respirator. It’s something like 25%-40% more effective vs. without one, and it goes up from there to 90%+ if everyone is wearing one and they are properly fitted. Some respirators don’t protect anyone from a sick wearer (like painter’s masks with cartridges and an unfiltered exhaust) but others do (like N95s/FFP2s). For the purpose of this article, “respirator” refers to stuff like n95s though.
