- Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said there’s a real cost to AI doomerism.
- Without naming names, Huang blamed “very well-respected people” for end-of-the-world narratives.
- Huang said the rhetoric is “scaring people” from making investments in the improvement of AI.

AI doomerism typically refers to the belief that AI will rise up against us and kill us all. Given that current “AI” is just a guessing machine, that won’t happen, barring substantial breakthroughs. The end-of-the-world narratives are basically marketing for AI, as in, “hey, if this thing got any smarter, it would destroy the world”.
The real doomerism is that AI will take over teaching and we will have a generation that only knows what AI has lied to them about.
AI will be used to target people for death and already has been used as such. Imagine a world where you are incorrectly judged as a problem and executed when in reality you just share a terrorist’s handle.
AI will be used to create custom persuasive propaganda on the fly. It will be used to manipulate voting and to help take away our rights. It will be controlled by the uber wealthy and will be their mouthpiece spreading their bullshit far and wide.
Yes exactly thank you for pointing it out. He’s not referring to people upset about slop or propaganda or CSAM on X, he is just doing more marketing and pretending that LLMs will somehow stop being chatbots and magically transform into something else that kills us all.
