universal has been doing it for years. i am not sure how it will play out.

no one is making you like games but why even participate in the community?

The anti-ai wave is mostly a north american issue. people in china just see a new tool they have to learn. like most issues with americans, it has become binary. either ai will bring utopia or it will destroy us all.
everything gors back to republicans destroying education and americans defining their loves by social media

thats funny… i dont use gemini but i know llms can mirror the user’s personality over time. is this how you talk or was this completely random? claude isnt this sassy for me.

i am so tired my glasses are starting to fail me and i read:
Major Zohran Mamdani is going to live (short i) on twitch in new streaming series.
so i pictured a netflix show where he lives on twitch 24/7 in a big brother type living room.

i think we are talking about different things

no one but the most hopeless people think selling ai generated books is a good idea.

i didnt say the post title was altered, i said the article title is sensationalized
it doesnt matter what the project was called. if you read the articke, it was postponed due to sone issues with including nvidia drivers.

this is what it really is. this seems very normal but its happening on a service owned by a shitty person so people make a big deal. this isnt enshiyification, as another commenter said because it doesnt affect a normal user.

to make.money ues, but mu.company of two people doesnt make rich people richer. we work to make money, i rather own my company than work for someone else

onlyoffice ownership is so sketchy that germany had to fork it and create Euro Office.

ok , rant time, from a guy who doesnt have a problem with llms — i hate vibe coding.
when it was first mentioned, i pictured people slapping somethjng together at hone for some weird niche use they have, that no one cares about. but no, rheu want to throw it upon the world and take credit for creating something.
they slam open source projects with useless commits so they can say “look at me, look at me”
In contrast, i have been professionally developing software for over 27 years and i have created stuff at home that i tell no one about. i have contributed to open source and told no one. (unless a groip of enthusiasts asked me to fix something).
i just dont understand the mindset of these people who use llms to say “please help me contribute to the linux kernel so i can tell people i did something”

there are plenty of opensource markdown editors. i use obsidian but if i needed open source for md i would use zed or one of the numerous markdown editors on my machine.
to be clear - i agree something needs to be done but nobody can define specifically what to do. how do you define it? what exactly are you taxing? how are you taxing it?
my argument, is that its a hard problem. bernie sanders is the only person i see coming up with ideas.
i can’t. its easy to say “billionaires must be stopped” but how? specifically, exactly what.
to give an example. what is wealth hoarding? how do you define it so it doesnt cover savings accout or retirement?
thats what i said… i feel like Data from Goonies
you put earn in quotes because i think you know they dont usually earn a billion. so what exactly are you trying to stop?

this is a decent read. theres honest criticism and not a “m$ sux lol” rant. a someone who can agnostically enjpy tech history, i would like to see how this plays out.

the person who wrote the article is… not a great thinker but you get some good answers from Cerf, so worth a read.
The first mistake the author makes is thst Tim Berners-Lee is not one of the fathers of the internet but of the world wide web. it runs on the application layet of the internet and came decades later.
The second mistake is corrected by Cerf. the difference between a discovery and an invention.
thank you - the extension doesnt work on mobile
