In the backup world, 50TB isn’t really a lot, and you’re not really ready to talk about tape systems or maintaining an always-on disk system. Also, HDD’s have been getting more expensive due to AI idiocy. But, cheapest is probably a second raid system, like 4x 20tb drives. Do the backup at home and then move the backup system off site and either keep it spinning, or make sure to spin up and test the individual drives every so often.

On a desk a mouse is nice. On a laptop (if you literally use it on your lap, which some of us do), you really want the mouse or trackpad to be built into the keyboard, which is why so many keyboard pc’s suck. I’m looking at you, Raspberry Pi 400/500.

Well the claim is that the problem has gotten worse, or at least more widespread. One thought is that the users’ external stresses (economic etc.) are now harder to get away from, so more seek refuge in porn. Not great but I guess it beats drinking. Anoher idea is that the porn itself has gotten more addictive, like through AI enhancement. Not saying it’s either of those necessarily. They are just obvious guesses.
