I’ve never been able to relate to posts like this because I can’t rewatch or reread things. The only thing that I can rewatch indefinitely is Pacific Rim but even that I don’t go out of my way to rewatch it.

Same things with video games, I can only replay games that allow you to take different path.

But this doesn’t apply to food or music. I can eat the same menu every day and you won’t hear anything from me. I can also keep listening to the same album over and over again (for a whole year or more even until I found a new album to restart the cycle).

I can’t help but think this shift in doctrine could lead to the fall of an empire, with a new ideology in power rising from its ashes. We saw a very similar pattern during WWI, where changing doctrines led to an imperial collapse and paved the way for a new ideology taking power.
