  • You need to let it go, or get over whatever this weird outrage this is that you are having.

I can feel however I want, you don’t get to gatekeep that.

I didn’t tell George RR Martin to do anything. I said a line on a social media forum.

You are choosing to take my words in the way you are describing and not in the way I intended. That is a form of manipulation and gas lighting. Especially after I clarified.

Who called me entitled? I guess I missed that. That’s a weird take, whoever said it.

    Look at it this way.

He was clearly starting to stall in his later books, taking so long to get them out, and instead of starting to wrap up the storyline, he started introducing new elements.

I understand why he hasn’t moved forward, but I’ve lost all interest in ever picking up another book of his. The terrible writing by D&D certainly didn’t help.

My feelings of frustration are valid and my criticism is not unfounded.

I do appreciate your thoughtful response, thank you

IIRC correctly, they were so checked out, working on potential future projects (that were also fucking terrible), that they had most of the work passed off to others?

Honestly though, I blame the author. GOT was great until they ran out of source material. Then you saw how terrible D&D really are at this. MF still hasn’t finished the series. If you can’t finish it, then don’t fucking start it.

Maybe Sanderson can pick up the mantle for this one too.

  • I sometimes did the same, but I grew up on a dairy farm and had milk that wasn’t homogenized.

We used these old one gal apple juice bottles that had a narrow neck, so the cream would float to the top and collect in the narrow opening.

When I got older, I actually liked getting that first dollop of cream on my cereal.

Now though, anything over 2% just tastes too heavy. Growing up on unpasteurized milk, I am amazed at what I got away with.

My company has one every year. Heck, it is even just our regional department, so each department has its own.

It was 80’s themed this year. They had live music and even a Back to the Future mocked up Delorian outside of the venue. A couple of free drink tickets, free buffet style food all around, a bunch of 80’s arcade machines, and a pretty awesome raffle.

The company is also employee owned and not beholden to stockholder parasites.

It’s amazing what a company can do when your profits aren’t maximized and sucked out.

Wall Street should be burned to the ground and billionaires crucified over its ashes.

  • Maybe if they didn’t make you go through their fucking blog to try and find the actual recipe, dodging ads the whole time.

Bon Appetit used to have an incredible recipe site back in the he day, but it slowly became shittified.

I have Julia Childs’ French cookbook set and that is just an amazing resource. I definitely recommend that to anyone who wants to see how shit was done back in the day before everything came in a can or a mix. Plus the French really knew how to make a delicious dish.

I started printing out the Bon Appetit recipes that I liked, when that started going to shit, and even those were difficult to frame in a useable way. But at least with the printouts, I don’t have to search through the slop to find what I want.

Still annoying to look for something knew.

For all you beginners out there, or new to the recipe saving world… TAKE NOTES ON YOUR RECIPES! You WILL forget what you liked/didn’t like, or changes that worked/didn’t work.
