At least they covered that 😬

The part that worries me is what happens when the glasses batteries are empty. Do they get fall back to “long-distance / myopia” mode so that you can still see at at distance and able to drive?
I love tinkering with gadgets, but sometimes the manufacturers of these tech-based version forget to cover the basics before enhancing it with tech.
A good example are smartwatches. They can be filled with sensors, but they need to at least do one thing well, and that is to show time reliably.

It’s like signing a contract, you have only yourself to blame if the contract sucks but didn’t read it before putting your signature on it.

Personally I just hoard the giveaway games.
Hello, can we speak?
We are seeing more and more Lemmy.ca users being banned for speaking out
Do you mind pointing out specific cases where a ban was unjustified? When I look at the modlog (which is accessible to everyone) I only see one recent ban that could be related by one of our admins, and the reason was “inciting violence”. We can review further if it was a mistake.
If there were bans by other admins or moderators in other communities outside of lemmy.ca, it’s not in our jurisdiction so you’d have to take it with the mods of these communities or admins of these instances.

It will inevitably focus more on pleasing its public investors than anything else, therefore enshittification.
Maybe Steam/Valve is a unicorn, but it’s not publicly traded and it’s doing just fine.

Negligence doesn’t judge hindsight outcomes, it judges whether the officer’s perceptions and decisions were reasonable under the circumstances. Stress explains behavior, it does not excuse it. If an officer’s own actions created the danger, misread a non-threat, or violated training, policy, or basic tactical principles, then their perception under stress can itself be negligent.

They escalated the situation, didn’t follow the procedures and put everyone, including themselves at risk and someone died. There’s at least some criminal negligence.

He placed himself in a situation that could put his life in danger, and may escalate to lethal force if the person panics, which is likely what happened here.
It’s likely a case of officer-created jeopardy.

All I could think of

The NTC Thermistor apparently becomes really hot, really fast (near its rated limit), which in itself is not a problem, but the surrounding components are not rated for that temperature and can melt.

You jumped with a parachute and decided to cut the cords, because who needs a social safety net.
Then whistleblowers should send it to Reuters, the BBC, the CBC, etc.

Such a shithole country.

Personally I just put the libdvdcss2, libaacs and libbdplus dll in Handbrake’s install folder to directly encode my personal Blu-Ray and DVD to MKV straight from the disc.

It will be called slop even more then.

The GOP members who initially voted bypartisantly (I believe it was a voice-only vote, no exact tally was made) may not want to do a formal override vote and paint themselves as an opponent to their supreme leader.

Let’s see if the representatives still have some dignity left and push for a veto override.
