My experience is nowadays documentation is even going to go away, as the answer to fixing things is more and more going to be “get Claude to fix it”

Also a sizable contingent who don’t like the recent “invasion” by the KMT and would welcome being part of PRC. The farther south in Taiwan you go the more that sentiment grows, as the KMT settled in the north.

I was a student in a lab, so I was tasked with making the 10% HCL bath to clean the glassware. I learned that day why you should always add acid to water, and not add water to acid. The building was evacuated.

I have been gravely disappointed in the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”;

It’ll do things like write a great helper function that it uses once but never again, maybe even writing a second copy of it the next time it would use it.
Holy shit! That exactly explains why I’ve seen so many duplicated functions lately. I brought it up to the dev responsible the first time I found one (git blame), and he was just like “oh haha I can remove one” like he wasn’t quite sure what I was talking about, now I realize he must’ve gotten on that AI train much earlier than I thought…

I misremembered slightly, overall biggest impact were the top 2:
Sounds like something Dom Joly would do :)

I saw a video where they talked about a bunch of studies about ultra processed foods, and the top 3 worst foods for health were (iiirc)
Those 3 were like 99% of the danger of processed foods.

I just switched to Librewolf from Firefox, would you recommend moving to Waterfox instead ?

Mind sharing that article here?
Agent641, I can NOT hear this!
His recent solar / renewable one is worth a watch, especially the extended version…

I’m not arguing either way with that, just pointing out that our current system (in most of the US at least) demands that you pay someone to live no matter how you do it
I would second this heh - buy second hand, and especially if you don’t want/need anything fancy.
.
I recently was gifted a 2nd-hand garmin forerunner 235. Battery life could be better, but it does most things well (simple). I wasn’t sure I wanted a smart watch, but it’s growing on me.

Minor nitpick, most places (US-specific) have property taxes you have to pay every year, so even if you own your own home, you’re paying something to someone every year for the right to have a roof over your head.
I think the “especially as you age” part of the previous comment was important. Yes walking/biking/moving are good and healthy, but as you age you start losing muscle and bone mass (I forget, like a few percent every 10 years?). The only way to offset this is something like resistance weight training.
