Literally same. Luckily I had managed to avoid thinking of it beyond my teen years for a good decade. But it has come back worse than ever when I recently started listening to a podcast about some philosophy.

It’s fucking terrifying and depressing. Anyone who doesn’t believe in an afterlife but says it’s not terrifying and depressing is taking mega levels of copium.

At one point recently I remember I was walking around in public doing a bit of people watching and I was like holy fucking shit everyone is just walking around like this is nothing. Everyone is gonna die but we have all this random bullshit everyone is doing not realizing it’s gonna end. Idk.

  • So a caveat to this is that digital signal is absolutely shit compared to analog. Back when we had rabbit ears, even if the picture was fuzzy/suboptimal, you could watch the show just fine. Nowadays? If you’re not getting 100% full strength signal, it is literally unwatchable. The audio and picture freeze every two seconds which makes it literally impossible to understand and follow dialogue. Either I get a crystal clear picture and audio or I get an unwatchable mess. There is no in between anymore with digital signal.

Plus, I only seem to get this crystal clear signal from the top floor in my home and near a window. If you have a lower floor or have the antenna a bit too far away from the window, it also just does not work hardly at all. This was never an issue with analog signal for me.

Idk if it’s just me or not. There are a ton more channels overall with the digital signals compared to analog, but it’s frustrating that I only seem to be able to watch them if the signal is absolutely perfect.

  • I mean it sounds interesting but I’m kind of disappointed that the gallery link doesn’t seem to work. It would be nice to know even remotely what kind of things are inside these vending machines.

Like are they canvas prints inside? Little postcard sized items? Pottery? Like I just want to know at least very vaguely what kind of content is involved.

  • People on the internet are always so dramatic.

Look, I get it. The political climate right now is frustrating and even outright terrifying. But I’ve lived for periods of time in incredibly liberal, left leaning states as well as incredibly right winged states. It is often really not that dramatic of a difference for day to day life living in one versus the other.

I will concede that some places actually are more dangerous for people of certain demographics to live versus others.

But like…take Florida for example…a terrifyingly right leaning state. BUT you have plenty of incredibly liberal pockets…like how Orlando is basically a gay haven lol.

Hurricanes are really only a problem for people living in coastal regions which will have “storm surge” flooding (the sea level rises and literally comes into your home). But it’s incredibly easy to not live in an area like that lol. It’s also a danger to those in trailer homes (no idea why those are allowed in Florida…seems criminal). For everyone else, you could think of hurricanes as similar to “snow days” in the north haha.

  • Whoa where did you get this drawing of me?

Actually kind of relevant because I seek out issues from mental health providers that are very intermittent so it’s hard to get them to understand what the problem is and how to help me with it. Like they diagnosed me with “depression” because I presented as AAAA but have tried to explain to them that it’s intermittent and not the classic incessant low mood and energy.

Anyway…cue the “sir, this is a Wendy’s” response to this comment lol!!
