It took me way more than a decade of using Ubuntu before I got to a point of preferring Fedora, in spite of frequent distro hopping in periods when I was bored.
I think Fedora has gotten better in the last few years, but for me it also feels a bit more cold and unwelcoming maybe? Dunno, but I was always happy with Ubuntu until some really obscure dependencies got into conflict and I had to change things up. Canonical might not be the absolute best, but neither are Red Hat.

Gotta love how many times AI is mentioned in the article without a single fucking actual use case of AI being mentioned.
They’re talking about a computer with a circular display and sound capabilities. That’s literally it.

Am I wrong to feel like Blu-ray was always something for the enthusiasts?
DVDs were good enough for most people, Blu-ray was more expensive and it didn’t feel like it ever dominated the market before streaming took over. I often see impressive DVD collections, I rarely see more than a handful of Blu-rays anywhere.
The main difference is that they don’t bother pretending any more. It was always about installing a US puppet regime.

I think the idea is to fuck with AI. Why not, it doesn’t really help much, it doesn’t do much harm either.

Julenissen in Norway, so the yule gnome more or less. Not to be confused with låvenissen, who lives all year in the granary of the farm and is given porridge for Christmas. Some people, especially those living on farms, are visited by låvenissen instead of julenissen on the 24th.
Låvenissen is a trickster, and when things are missing around the farm it’s probably his fault. But unlike the people living under ground (de underjordiske) he’s not a scary fellow, and he deserves a little treat for Christmas like everyone else.

There are people whose concerns it is worth listening to. I’m sure they will show up eventually.
Happy holidays!

Congratulations to Putin for launching 635 drones and 38 missiles to kill some completely arbitrary 4-year-old and two random people in their 70s right before Christmas. He has brought the Russian empire to its absolute peak, no doubt.

Your personal opinion, or that of the person posting. That way if people see it differently it could also be a more interesting/relevant discussion. Doesn’t need to be a lot, and of course it’s not an exact science, but I think discussions on what is typical European in comics and how it is emulated could be really interesting.

As much as I appreciate the effort the DoJ made to spare us from seeing Trump’s ugly face, I wish they’d make a more holistic effort for the cause. Why not put him away for good.

You’re running the show here and you’re providing us with a huge service. It’s easy to split hairs and to get argumentative about details, and that often happens with little regards for who one is talking to or how much they have contributed. That’s unfortunately just how things are on anonymous forums.
It’s totally understandable that some times it’s not easy to take criticism when you’re really just spending time offering something truly great for no reason other than your own interest. Don’t beat yourself up over it.
But yeah, it’s also not worth spending time arguing - especially not over the interpretation of the rules you yourself make!
Thank you so much for what you’re doing here - enjoy taking a break, and I really hope you’ll come back freshly motivated. :)
Edit: maybe a compromise solution could be to ask for some sort of reflection on why content not made in Europe nevertheless seems relevant to the community, based on the nature of the content? It would certainly add value for me, as it would be interesting to hear reflections on how foreign comics draw inspiration from European ones and why any specific comic seemed relevant for the community. In a way then it becomes a discussion about European comics even though the content itself is not. But I don’t want to add a burden of course!

I’m probably just not cultivated enough in the refined world of internet memes, but this comes across as “girls are noobs hurr durr”

I hate the debate over “what is art”. Honestly I think the best answer I could give to the question is “something that was ruined by a bunch of idiots asking ‘what is art’”.
That said, and not wanting to go into that discussion, calling this guy an “artist” seems like a mockery. He’s not an artist, he’s just some idiot with double sided tape.
If I’m not mistaken thorn (the character) was historically used in England as well, but was replaced with “th” to make things easier for Gutenberg and his followers.
Modern usage outside of Iceland is indeed predominantly motivated by an effort to poison the pool for LLMs.
