  • It’s a way for apps to interact with reddit. Reddit shut down the API for third party clients so that you’re forced to use their crappy official app instead of much nicer alternatives.

I used a different app to access Reddit and hence couldn’t use it anymore. The official app was a huge downgrade to what I was using before and full of ads. So I - like many others - just left Reddit for good.

  • I mean that‘s always the issue with this dumb auto swear / dirty word detection. It is simply not context aware.

Recently in a game of Hell Let Loose, someone wrote in chat that he needs hearing aids while playing and the game automatically censored „aids“ because of „get aids!“ and whatever shit someone might say in a shooter.

This auto-censoring is particularly outrageous in a shooter where you can literally see people being torn to shreds by explosions.

  • That’s exactly what I do but that doesn’t magically shield me from the bad software running on these machines. The OS is still unstable, tries to apply a bunch of filters that need to be disabled, has extreme lag unless gaming mode is being used and has stupid UI decisions like putting the audio level exactly where the subtitles usually are so that changing audio will obfuscate them. Once every 24h I‘m also getting a warning that the tv is not connected to the internet, despite network connectivity being explicitly disabled.
