Fighter jets are basically rocks that have huge jet engines strapped on to them, if it has propulsion, it stays on the air. But if it loses engines, it drops like a stone.

Yeah, there are reasons why robot arms in factories are in cages, because they will pretty much just kill you if you get in the way of the arms.
It isn’t AI, main way to know is the one guys green gloves stay on even when they are out of sight long periods of time. None of the current models can handle that.
These robots just have quite powerful motors that control arms/legs, so when it goes wrong, it can easily destroy itself with spectacular fashion.
Modern raspberry pi GPIO pins are compatible with floppy disk cable (similar to PATA). I can tell you how much I enjoyed telling about this to my wife, when I pulled one of them from my magical cable drawer, were I have stored one since the 90’s.
(Just make sure that there isn’t the one blocked pin, otherwise you might break things)
They will just do IPO and get trillion dollar valuation, and poof, they are profitable.
Ad-apalypse is coming, they will squeeze all the pennies from your data and prompts. Personalized ad response to prompt.
If you have no soul, get ready to buy malware ads to bad JS libraries suggested by AI, filled with crypto miners and crypto stealers

Technology@lemmy.world•New sodium ion battery stores twice the energy and desalinates seawaterEnglish
1·3 months agoThat is true, but my small EV the batteries are 500kg, same car with combustion engine only has 40L fuel tank.
Stability is important, but lithium-ion ain’t really that stable either. Still waiting some solid state to get made.

77·3 months agoTNT has 1162 Wh/kg ratio.
These new lithium-ion batteries get to 300-400Wh/kg range.
We are hitting the limit what is doable with energy density. Do you really want to carry 100g of TNT in your pocket or few tons of TNT in vehicle going 100km/h.
Of course things are not directly comparable, but ball parks.

1·3 months agoYes, because electricity is just things spinning, and steam is the easiest way to make things spin.
I see this so easily cheatable, how the hell can language model verify that you have done the task. It is basically a oxymoron. You just reply instantly that task has been done, and collect the money.
Yeah, and antimatter converts to pure energy with e=mc^2 what means that 60 grams contains like Hiroshima worth of energy
Yeah, that beast can probably host one medium size corporate with Linux, and do some crypto mining on the side

2·4 months agoThat is not good video to show the whole picture, it cuts out the crucial part, better shown in the video filmed from the back of the car.
This is the one right wants you to see, because it doesn’t show that she wasn’t the aggressor.

News@lemmy.world•Minnesota doubles-down on ICE shooting investigation despite Trump admin
10·4 months agoNo, here we trust our police. They are investigated often, and are held responsible.
They are required to have bachelor level degree in police school (3 years). Standards for getting in are quite high.

Well fediverse and ActivityPub protocol do basically already that in a sense. We just need more users to migrate from the old Internet to these services build on top of the tech which cannot be controlled by the mega corporations. Old Internet is basically three companies in a trench coat.
