I only have a few records I care about, but I’m still paranoid about dust and scratches.

If it weren’t true, they wouldn’t bother denying it without an army of lawyers backing their legal department up to sue the shit out of anyone and everyone for libel. (remember kids, libel is literary, slander is spoken)

If it were not true, they wouldn’t hesitate to sue because these claims are damaging whatever reputation they had.

If they don’t come out with lawsuits blazing, they at least think they won’t win a court case easily.

Republicans are mentally toddlers who think if someone else gets something, even an intangible concept, there’s less of that thing to go around. So if someone else is allowed to do literally anything that the toddler doesn’t do themselves, CLEARLY that means something is being taken away from them.

If a bike lane goes in and the toddler doesn’t like riding a bike, then that HAS to mean something is being taken from them.

When a local project was proposed to add a bike lane on one side of the road to allow safe passage of bikes, republicunts threw a goddamn tantrum, because we CAN’T take up part of the parking lots that nobody ever parks in because it’s far away from storefronts, and we CAN’T take away that thin strip of green-brown that dies every year because it’s right against the road, and it’s money the city shouldn’t be spending.

A little over a year later and they’re halfway through expanding a new lane on each side of the road, pushing into parking lots, taking away the green and trees from both sides of the road, shutting down one direction for months at a time, and costing about 15x more than the single lane expansion and blocking off would have.

Adding another lane has so far caused several accidents as people realize they need a different lane and try to force their way into a spot to turn, or they get stuck in the turn lane and try to launch their car ahead of the normal flowing traffic and sideswipe the next lane or t-bone a car trying to turn into the main road.

But hey, at least we don’t have any of those WOKE DANGEROUS DEI BIKE LANES

I would argue Sheppard did NOT talk someone into killing themselves.

He presented the facts, the man made his own choice, and made sure his remaining life would actually help someone else.

I would have done the same in his place. I might not have used nanites on a mother just to ensure she helps, but I would absolutely have offered up myself as a snack if my family were now effectively dead and I was the only person around who doesn’t have any more reason to keep going. The fact he was doing everything for his own kid makes it understandable, if not okay.

The grass roots aren’t the issue, Without seeing a 360° view, we don’t know how close the nearest tree is. Some tree roots grow quite a ways to the sides, and can be hiding just under the soil.

For my last house, I dug about 6 inches down, and put a layer of gravel to fill up to the ground level. Pea gravel on bottom 3 inches and larger inch or so gravel on top. Then spaced the bottom ring so there was about 1.5-2in of space for air to flow in.

I also tried covering the inside of the stones I used with leftover high temp cement from making a blacksmithing forge, but it didn’t adhere well to the stone and flaked off after a couple uses. it would probably do better on concrete retaining wall slabs.

I built it to last, for sure. But I wouldn’t say I over-built it.

This kind of ring in OPs pic is probably fine for their purposes, but it’s always good to be aware of things like root fires.

Looks like the same shitty corroded connectors my Chevy Silverado/gmc Sierra used. Had to replace one a few years ago, and figured I’d do them all in one go.

Gotta say, I like being able to sit in my engine bay and work on it, but I definitely don’t like having to reach an arm’s length behind a dirty part to get to something.
