Cool, in the EU all countries have veto power. In the UN, all permanent members of the security council have veto power. You just need one of them to refuse to give up that power. In the EU, I believe this could somewhat work, but in the UN ? No way the US, China, Russia, France or the UK would give it up without leaving the institution.

The veto is the sole reason these institutions still exist. There’s no way in hell any member would give up that power.

And looking at the finances of a State only through expenses and revenues is completely missing the point (on purpose here obviously).

You know it’s not a single binary, right ? Systemd is a bunch of different, mostly single usage, mostly optional, binaries. As far as Unix philosophy goes, Systemd is definitely following the principles, which is not the case for the Kernel for instance.

As for the binary logs, I used to hate it, but then, not having to manually parse logs for filtering is really nice.

I do have my issues with Systemd, but it not following the Unix philosophy is not one of them.

I think the issue with most datacenters is the frequency, not necessarily the noise level. A low hum that permeates everything, even if it’s not “loud” can become debilitating.

Which is funny because Switzerland is probably one of the most economically liberal country in Europe.

Honestly a lot of top attractions in Paris are better seen from the outside (with maybe the exception of the Louvre). There are a ton of people and it can be quite expensive. I feel like Paris is an experience in itself already, just walking around and finding plaques about the history of that building or this street. Going up Montmartre, going down to Pigalle, walking along the Seine, or through Jardins du Luxembourg and jardin des Tuileries.

The metro is great and you can use the bike share system which is also nice.
