Well, yes, you shouldn’t trust the US government or any other government out of the control of its people.

231·3 months agoAlso, how are Trump, Starmer, and others still trying to make this about nuclear weapons? Nuclear weapons are state insurance. Their only use is to prevent a foreign power from using force to destroy or control a state. Kind of like what Trump is doing to Iran right now. This latest foreign intervention will only encourage whoever takes over to develop nuclear weapons faster, to avoid exactly this scenario in the future.

2023·3 months agoNot a single person I have ever talked to defends Israel’s land grab while condemning Russia’s. NATO did some stupid shit now and then, but overwhelmingly, their only purpose is to promise to crush Russia if it ever tries a land grab on a NATO state.
Maybe you’re not a Chinese bot account, but you are isomorphic to a Chinese bot account.

Openly admitting the average Murcan has the intelligence and education of a child.
But yeah, you’re right. The people aren’t in control, and haven’t been for some time. One wouldn’t expect them to be well-educated.

61·4 months agoOh wait, I see I haven’t answered your question. The land has strategic value because it sits between Russia and North America. During the Cold War in particular, it was a good place to put early warning radar to detect nuclear launches. Now, for example, the waters around the island are patrolled for Russian submarines and stuff. And as the Arctic Ocean’s surface ice thaws, there are valuable trade routes there that different states want to control. And there might be some fancy minerals on the island itself.

I was really wondering about that. At the time, I was saying to myself, “This is not the endorsement you think it is, Orban.”, lol.
