That is such a weird reply.

I see some friends manage to have a life outside of parenting. But I always hear them about how special that weekend is for them, or how happy they are to be able to get a day away from their kid(s). He does X, and later she does Y, and that’s how they both get to do a thing. Assuming it all goes well, of course. There are plenty of cancellations when the kid is sick, or the sitter cancelled.

Meanwhile, my partner and I just get to do their rare and special thing whenever we feel like it. We don’t have to arrange or schedule or split our activities. A weekend away together isn’t a rare event, we just go and do it.

It feels like we’re just SO rich compared to them. And I don’t mean in money, but in time and freedom and ability to enjoy ourselves.

I’m putting 50 bucks on this bearing only the most vague resemblance to Raveloft. They’ll use the names and there will be a scary vampire, and that’s going to be it.

This is why I start the rants at my husband with “I don’t need a solution for this. So, today…”

Funny story, “protein” in Dutch is just “Eggwhite”.

So, I was looking for egg whites, for baking. The brand switched from a bottle to a carton, so I couldn’t find it. I asked for it, and after the someone pointed it out to me, another shopper goes “You can just buy egg whites? Then why are we buying extra protein bread?” to their friend/partner/whatever.

There was a lawsuit in the Netherlands when a lollypop maker marketed their candy as “energy for your brain”. Thankfully, while it’s technically correct, that was deemed not actually legal.

You can, however, still brand your salt as vegan and your banana as gluten free.

It comes down to how likely it is.

The likelyhood of the Netherlands being invaded, but not germany or france, is a lot smaller than the Netherlands being invaded but not the UK.
