Back in the old days, 1999 to 2001, there was a website where people posted TV commercials, watched them, and commented on them. This treasure trove of free advertising and feedback was taken down due to copyright infringement.
You can say someone was charged with rape, you can say someone was convicted of rape and awaiting sentencing, you can say the convicted rapist was released. All of those are statements of fact at various points of the timeline this trial took place on whic, in America, releases you from libel.
If you search for Misty Roberts in the news, you will see a number of articles. Some say sex with a child which, while not saying ‘rape’, isn’t exactly stigma-free. A number of them used rape, both before and after the conviction. Others use sexual abuse, one used the phrase ‘romping with teen’ which isn’t even necessarily a crime in many places.
The chosen phrase used isn’t an accident, and in plenty of circumstances uses a less damning term than is legally required to avoid libel, even in this one.

I’ve been using duck for at least 3 years, probably closer to 6 or 7. When I first used it, its searches were okay, but if I couldn’t find what I was looking for a quick trip to Google would fix that. I felt like it improved slightly over some time, but also Google got a lot worse. Now with the AI proliferation, I never bother going to Google, and duck is still better than it was a year or two ago. Their AI has about a 20 or 30% success rate for me, but I just use it as a top search if I use it at all. I would love it if the results didn’t change when I run the same search 2 minutes apart, though.

Give it time! Biden had decades to commit his war crimes, but Trump is doing his best. I’m sure thinking of ways to outdo Biden is what helps him get up in the afternoon, and war crimes is probably the easiest category for him to do it in.
Well, the WHO puts it in the same category as tobacco. Is tobacco just strongly correlated to cancer? And I don’t need to say it is causative, because The Lancet did.
You can stack that data up against your anecdotes however you like.
It means that any amount of alcohol increases the odds of you dying sooner or having other negative health effects sooner (which will lead to you dying sooner). There is no amount that won’t increase those odds. It says nothing about how much any given drink would impact your life span. I’m not saying it’s negligible or significant, but I can’t be bothered to look it up.
It’s like trying to prove an author didn’t use a ghostwriter. You might be able to find some clues, but the smaller the sample and the more cleanup the author did, the less chance there is to detect it.
Now what if they’re using AI for debugging? Code from the AI may not even make it into the project, but that doesn’t mean AI wasn’t used. So how do you enforce a “no AI” policy in that scenario?
If there’s no practical way to enforce a rule or tell if it has been broken, it’s a pointless rule. Better programmers than me have settled on the policy of “If you track in shit on your shoes, you will be the one cleaning it up, and may well be told to not come back if you do.” Make people responsible for the code they submit, and if they can’t do it right, however they do it, don’t merge their code and kick them out.
On accident? Seems unlikely.
