Back maybe 25 years ago I got to tour inside Howmet in Whitehall, MI as part of a class. They did casting of turbine vanes for jet engines. Damned impressive process, and thorough quality checks x-raying every one for flaws. Finding out that each vane has coolant channels cast in was interesting, and a bit unnerving, since they get operated at temperatures above the melting point of the metal! I always think about that when I get on a plane.

Check out Bahubali (1 and 2) if you haven’t already. It has some over-the-top action scenes too, I enjoyed both.

I’m running a flatpak version of Orca Slicer on Kubuntu 24.04. Personally, just prefer Orca after trying out a couple others. Found that it worked under Mint, and the 24.04 versions of Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Newer distros using Wayland instead of X11 seemed to have issues (which some people running Cura or Prusa slicers saw as well). Not everyone, but plenty of folks had software lock up at startup, or the build plate preview would just be a blank page. Might be a video driver problem, possibly depending upon if you use nvidia or AMD. I couldn’t find any real answers.
If there’s a slicer you prefer, you may have to find a Linux distro that it works under. Or if you are running a distro you’re sticking with, try slicers until you get one that runs. It seems to be hit or miss for people without any good reason for what does and doesn’t work.

Have not tried it, but there are supposed to be multiplayer options. Not sure how well it works, sounds like there are plans to fix bugs (whatever they may be) in the near future.

Vein. Bought a full copy today, been playing their free demo version. Still in development, but potentially a great game for people who enjoy crafting survival. You explore and scavenge for components you need to build supplies to survive. Everything can be broken down with the right tools. It’s not a fast-pace bloody hack and slash game, but more focused on building, occasionally dealing with zombies that want to eat your brains.
I hadn’t been loading much of anything since the price of powder and primers went up 2-3x. But, understand that sense of urgency. Got my order of heavy-weight pills recently, so going to dust off my press and spend some time on it this weekend.
