Liberals upset about the progressive insurgency in the Democratic Party should focus their energies on changing the rules that force everyone to the left of republicans to be in the same party. Create multi-party democracy and you won’t have to worry about getting primaried or whether democratic socialists will hurt their brand or any of that.

I am under the impression that centrist dems push back on progressives because progressives support policy like this. It’s kind of like you said “Hey Liberals, if you don’t want to be replaced by progressives, just do everything the progressives want to do”.
My hope is that we’re seeing the left-side equivalent of how the Tea Party shifted the GOP, except it’s actually grassroots.
Probably, but if so, saying this to them helps reveal their hand-wringing about electability as self-serving. If they have a solution but won’t pursue it or even block it, then it’s easier to tell them to shut up about it.
Fortunately, it looks like the DNC is learning from their past mistakes, and are rallying behind El-Sayed, at least from what I’ve read.

You get anomalies in those systems too. If coalitions are required to form a majority government, guess who gets massively empowered? Opportunist centrist parties that are willing to ally with either side if the price is right.
They don’t want that, they need to be the only alternative to Republicans or their billionaire funding pipeline will dry up.

While I have been voting blue no matter who because if how fascist the GOP it has left a bad taste in my mouth. Now that more progressive candidates are rising it will be interesting to see if they shoe can be put on the other foot. Will the moderates and neo-liberals in the DNC still vote blue no matter who? The moderates maybe but the neo-libs will get butthurt and either not vote or work to sabotage the progressive candidates.
Let me say this to my progressive brothers and sisters. The gun issue is going to keep driving people away who would be on your side. The reshaping of the DNC towards the left is an unstoppable force at this point. Boomer voters and old Reagan-era politicians are dying off. After decades of neoliberalism maintaining the status quo, the younger generation of voters are getting very impatient with the way things currently are.
As an old and luckily retired GenXer I hope to god so. I want to leave this world knowing it is becoming the place I always wanted it to be while I was alive.
